Sustainability Policy 2024

Miss Ivy Events Ltd is committed to minimising the environmental impact of our events. As part of our ongoing sustainability efforts, we are implementing the following updated practices and policies for 2024:

General Event Practices:

  1. Zero-Waste Goal: We aim to significantly reduce waste generated at our events by encouraging recycling, composting, and reuse.
  2. Carbon Footprint Reduction: We promote sustainable transportation options for attendees, such as public transport, cycling, and car-sharing.
  3. Sustainable Event Planning: We will work to reduce the overall carbon footprint of our events by selecting eco-friendly venues if possible, optimising energy use, and using renewable energy sources whenever possible.
  4. Policy Review: Our sustainability policy will be reviewed and updated annually to align with the latest environmental regulations and best practices.

Requirements for Stall Holders:

  • Plastic-Free Packaging: All stall holders must use plastic-free packaging alternatives, such as recycled paper, cardboard, or other biodegradable materials.
  • Local and Sustainable Products: Stall holders are encouraged to source products locally, use handmade or ethically-produced items, and prioritise sustainable supply chains.
  • Waste Management: Stall holders must take all waste with them and dispose of it responsibly, recycling whenever possible. A fee of £5 per bag will be charged for any waste left behind.
  • Reusable or Compostable Materials: Use only materials that are recyclable, reusable, or compostable for packaging and products.
  • Incentives for Sustainability: Offer incentives to customers who bring their own reusable bags, cups, or containers.

Requirements for Caterers:

  • Compostable Food Packaging: All food and drink packaging must be 100% compostable, such as Vegware, bamboo, or other eco-friendly alternatives.
  • Eliminate Single-Use Plastics: No single-use plastic items, including containers, straws, or cutlery. No polystyrene products of any kind.
  • Reusable Service Items: Use refillable containers for sauces and condiments to reduce waste.
  • Sustainable Sourcing: Prioritise locally sourced, organic, and fairly traded ingredients.
  • Encourage Reusables: Offer discounts or incentives for customers who bring reusable cups or containers.
  • Minimize Waste: Caterers must take all waste away and recycle wherever possible. A £5 charge per bag will apply for waste left at the event.
  • Alternative Beverage Options: Provide alternatives to bottled water, such as water refill stations if possible,

Guidelines for Visitors:

  • Reusable Items: Bring refillable water bottles and reusable coffee cups. Participating vendors may offer discounts for their use.
  • Responsible Disposal: Dispose of waste in the designated recycling and composting bins provided.
  • Eco-Friendly Travel: Carpool, use public transport, or walk to the event to reduce your carbon footprint.
  • Annual Policy Review: The sustainability policy will be reviewed and updated each year to ensure compliance with current environmental regulations and industry best practices.
