About Search and Scan

The charity was set up in 2015 when Katie Fox, Jo Southway and Bryony Game, armed with a spare lead and some tasty treats, came together to search for a missing dog called Chaos. The challenges that they faced made them realise that owners needed access to much more help when their pets go missing. So, they came up with the idea of starting a service to do just that and ‘Team Chaos’ was born. 

Pretty soon, more and more people started contacting them to ask for help with finding their animals. Then, yet more people contacted them to ask about helping and joining the team. Team Chaos became Search and Scan and the trio began to take on extra volunteers. 

Today, the charity is helped by an army of volunteers spread across Somerset and Wiltshire equipped with multiple traps, thermal vision, night vision, endoscopes, torches, nets, slip leads on poles and more. Every single member of the team is an animal lover dedicated to doing their bit to help.
