The Doggy Summer Fete
£ Raised for Charity!
Featuring a Remembrance Parade in tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
At last, having been postponed owing to a summer heatwave, the Doggy Summer Garden Fete took place at the Royal Cornwall Showground near Wadebridge. This time, the Cornish climate did not disappoint with mild and mostly dry conditions prevailing.
The event followed our traditional format, providing a varied and exciting range of activities for doggos and their owners to try, promoting and raising funds for local charities, and providing oodles of dog-centric goodies for visitors to purchase and – pooch-perfect services to learn more about.
This time, however, the mood was both joyful and sombre in equal measure following the death on Thursday 8th September 2022 of our beloved Queen Elizabeth II. In fact, the The Big Bark team considered cancelling the event for a second time; in the end, we decided to pay tribute to Her Majesty, a life-long dog-lover, with a Doggy Remembrance Black Ribbon Parade.
All the dogs were given a ribbon to wear, or instead, invited to wear something appropriate of their own, and off we went to the accompaniment of Friends Will Be Friends, Rule Britannia and Milanollo by the Grenadier Guards. Check out our little video..

What People Said
We love hearing feedback! Here’s what some of our visitors and participating businesses had to say…
We had an amazing day with you today and our dogs are now snoring, didn’t have enough time to do everything we wanted to there was so much to do so now planning the August one at the Royal Cornwall Showground 😂 Everyone was so friendly. Special thanks to Bodmin Dog Training for their fab advice and Help for Heroes (possibly because I won a bottle of port in their raffle) and the Pimms bar, and the ice cream floats, the Poochie Packs puppychinos, Lucy D Photography and well everything and everyone! ❤
