A Pawsome Day Out for Pooches.

This event was a first for the The Big Bark team. We were soooo excited to be taking The Big Bark on the road to a ‘far-flung’ venue!  Trentham Estate had approached us having heard all about our dog events to see if we could take the concept to their beautiful estate. We thought about it for all of 30-seconds before enthusiastically saying Yes.

The Big Bark at Bath Trentham took place across 2-days in late May. The weather was wonderful!  At times really quite hot. And the setting was perfect. The event field was situated overlooking the lake and surrounded by lush pastureland. Across the two days, some 4000 visitors together with their beloved dogs attended to enjoy an array of activities such as Have-a-go Agility & Hoopers, Temptation Alley, Canine Olympics, Canicross and Fly Ball. There were dog displays, talks and workshops from dog behaviourists, trainers and groomers. There were fun dog shows throughout the weekend raising funds for local charities.

We even hosted a doggy fashion show that we called the Pup Walk. It showcased the latest dog fashions ably modelled by a hand-picked crew of four-legged, waggy-tailed, slobber-chop pooches.

As ever, the event focused on supporting ethical dog-related businesses and promoting healthy attitudes and positive training methods among dog owners, whilst hosting more than 50 exhibitors from around the Southwest promoting their products and services. The retail area proved to be a veritable shoppers’ paradise.

With HUGE thanks to our primary sponsor Star Pawformers who hosted Have-a-Go activities, took part in demonstrations and were generally on hand throughout the event to chat with visitors and offer invaluable advice and practical help on current and progressive training methods without physical correction or mental intimidation.

Supported Charities

We were delighted to welcome and support local charities Greyhound Gap, the Rottweiler Welfare Association and Pebbles Legacy.  These organisations hosted fun dog shows with varied classes such as best junior handler, happiest dog and best rescue.  The shows ran on both days providing lots of fun, laughter and wagging tails. There were plenty of bright rosettes fluttered from collars too.
